The Collins Aerospace Kidde Dual Spectrum® automatic fire/explosion suppression (AFES) systems comprise
extremely fast and highly accurate Dual Spectrum sensors that detect fires and explosions in zones such as crew areas and engine compartments.
Additional protection systems are available supporting external, wheel and track areas.
Collins Aerospace’s Kidde Dual Spectrum® control electronics panel (CEP) combines fire suppression system control
and interface functions into a single unit. It serves the dual purpose of control electronics and control panel. This
approach reduces component count and weight while simplifying the design of electrical wiring harnesses.
Collins Aerospace provides fire and explosion sensors that utilize a patented infrared detection concept.
These sensors respond to explosive fires in milliseconds and have excellent false alarm immunity. Dual Spectrum®
infrared sensors detect fuel explosions and fires in enclosed spaces of armored personnel carriers.
