Clay Lindwall

Clay Lindwall is the Engineering & Technology leader at Collins Aerospace. In this role, Clay oversees a highly skilled and accomplished network of over 23,000 engineers that spans more than 150 sites across 24 countries. He is responsible for promoting technical and program execution excellence, technology innovation, and the career development of Collins engineers. He also leads the company’s central engineering and applied research organizations.
Clay joined Rockwell Collins, a predecessor of Collins, in 1993 as an intern and has held positions in design engineering and engineering leadership spanning commercial and defense applications. Prior to his current role, he most recently served as Vice President of Collins’ Avionics Engineering and Technology organization. In this role, he was responsible for product development and technology maturation for aviation solutions related to navigation and control, flight critical sensing and surveillance, displays and vision systems, high integrity computing and networking, and mission critical communications.
Clay earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Kansas State University, a Master of Science degree in systems engineering from Iowa State University, and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Iowa.
Clay is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and serves as an advisor to industry and academic groups, fostering the advancement of the engineering discipline.
