The microprocessor-based Collins Aerospace DTU-7000 data transfer unit lets you access worldwide aeronautical databases and mission-specific data. It provides two PCMCIA card sockets and communications over 100Base Ethernet or the MIL-STD-1553B data bus.

The unit will accept 3.3- and 5-volt commercially available Type I or II memory cards. It provides connector and software compatibility with the DR-200 and the previous U.S. Army standard DR-902 units.

Its increased processing power and Ethernet capability for higher transfer rates of data enable incorporation of functions such as digital moving maps and video recording.
