With many carryover features, including telephony and private automatic branch exchange (PABX) operations, the ICS-300 system now includes additional ARINC 429 circuits, BITE processors and an ARINC 615 data loader for software updates and configurations – while fully complying with standards for ACARS, FANS-1/A, CPDLC, ADS-C and voice applications.

Connecting avionics and more

ICS-300’s industry-standard circuitry connects it to other aircraft avionics and systems. For voice applications, the system provides four-wire audio circuits with configurable push-to-talk (PTT) capability for connection to audio control panels (ACPs) and other flight deck audio systems, as well as two-wire telecommunication circuits for cabin handset connectivity. The ICS-300 features active noise reduction to provide high-fidelity audio to the ground-based receiving party and digital echo suppression.

An ICS-300
ICS-300

The ICS-300’s discrete input and output circuits provide connectivity to aircraft sensors, switches, indicators and enunciators. Multiple ARINC 429 units offer circuitry that provides connections to multifunction control display units (MCDUs), communication management units (CMUs) and air traffic service units (ATSUs), central maintenance computers and other aircraft systems. The system also features a SATCOM configuration module, housing the service provider SIM cards and storing aircraft-unique  information, including configuration parameters and aeronautical operational control (AOC) and ATS dialing lists and short codes – making the ICS-300 a true line replaceable unit (LRU).

TSO-C159B certified and compatible with ARINC 781 standards for satellite data units, the ICS-300 uses an industry-standard 2MCU form factor and ARINC 600 connector to provide installation flexibility.
