Our civil certified communication, navigation and surveillance products, situational awareness solutions and integrated cockpit systems have been selected by leading OEMs for heavy, medium, and intermediate commercial aircraft including the S-92, S-76D, H225, H155, and the newest AW169 and AW189 offerings.

Integrated avionics solutions

Providing some of the most advanced technology on the market today, our integrated avionics solutions for helicopters meet the latest safety requirements as defined by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Our market-proven Avionics Management System for the Sikorsky S-92 multi-mission helicopter features high resolution multi-function displays easily viewable in all light conditions, with extensive configurability to support of surveillance and situational awareness systems. Our newest Helicopter Cockpit Display System, designed specifically for Leonardo's next generation AW189 and AW169 platforms, as well as the proven AW101 heavy lift helicopter, extends scalability and configurability to new levels and features advanced graphics processing, ARINC 664 AFDX networking, and support for 3rd-party developed applications.

Situational awareness

Supporting operations in some of the most demanding environments, Collins HeliSure™ flight situational awareness solutions offer pilots and aircrew a unique combination of technologies designed to enable safer, more efficient operations in all weather conditions. With 3D visualization of high resolution terrain data on large-format PFDs, our HeliSure family of products feature an intuitive interface with scalability across multiple platform types and sizes. Seamlessly blending our 3 arc second helicopter Synthetic Vision (H-SVS) and Helicopter Terrain Awareness and Warning System, HeliSure offers a comprehensive and detailed “real world” view of the surrounding threat environment regardless of outside visual conditions.

Surveillance and threat awareness

Collins is actively developing a comprehensive set of surveillance products designed specifically for helicopters which provide pilots with active sensor-based detection of dynamic threats including weather, surrounding traffic and (coming soon) near-proximity obstacles. The first TCAS 7.1-compliant traffic avoidance system certified for use by helicopters, offering display of traffic conflicts and resolution advisories on either a stand-alone or integrated cockpit display. Includes an embedded traffic computer with growth to future ADS-B in applications.

Communication and navigation

With decades of experience in communication and navigation solutions for all types of aircraft, Collins offers its market-leading suite of communication and navigation products with specific adaptations for the helicopter market. Available as separate products or bundled into a full-featured suite, these highly reliable sensors include a VHF transceiver, a VOR/ILS/Marker Beacon receiver, a DME transceiver, ADF receiver and WAAS-enabled GPS. In addition, we offer our DF-500 Direction Finding System designed specifically for search and rescue helicopter platforms. As communication requirements continue to evolve, so will the Pro line 21 CNS, so no matter what the future brings Collins will equip your aircraft to handle it.
