Collins Aerospace’s GLU-2100 Multi-Mode Receiver now available on Airbus aircraft

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Nov. 3, 2021) – Collins Aerospace GLU-2100 Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR) recently received approval by Airbus, making it available as line-fit and retrofit on Airbus A320, A330 and A350 aircraft. The offerability is a major step toward Collins’ offering next-generation Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) to the commercial aviation marketplace.

An MMR assists pilots in positioning, navigating and landing an aircraft. Building on the market-leading GNSS capabilities of previous MMRs, the GLU-2100 now provides an industry-proven Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) and Ground-Based Augmentation System (GBAS) at entry into service. This supports the integrity of the aircraft position, accuracy and availability of demanding aircraft operations such as landing in low visibility conditions.

Collins Aerospace GLU-2100 (MMR) ensures commercial aircraft can meet flight zone global mandates, while also proofing the technology by providing a solid foundation for future growth. It includes the flexible hardware baseline necessary to implement future GNSS capabilities, such as multi-frequency and multi-constellation (MFMC), and GBAS Category II/III via software-only update.
