Steve Timm heads Collins Aerospace's Avionics strategic business unit, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In this role, he is responsible for advancing aviation electronics and information management solutions in the flight deck and cabin for commercial and military customers around the world.
He brings more than 20 years of experience to his current position at Collins Aerospace. Steve was most recently vice president of the Commercial Avionics portfolio within the Avionics business, building avionics positions on both Airbus and Boeing next-generation aircraft, introducing differentiating solutions to the market, and capitalizing on our enterprise information management capabilities.
Building on a reputation of strong customer focus, effective communications and enterprise collaboration, Steve led many important initiatives over the course of his career at Rockwell Collins. He managed the company’s U.S.-based Service Centers; spearheaded the Commercial Information Management strategy and business, pioneering new ways to leverage information to create value for our customers; and defined and deployed the initial application of the Life Cycle Value Stream business framework – which continues to guide how Collins Aerospace serves customers today.
Born in England and raised in northern Iowa, Steve earned his Bachelor of Arts in management information systems and business from Wartburg College and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Iowa. He is an active member in the community, having served on the board of directors for the local chamber of commerce, currently serves on the RTCA board of directors, and is a former president for the Association for Information Technology Professionals.
